Trip Overview

best season for this tour | August & October

Prepare to be captivated by one of the most awe-inspiring natural phenomena on Earth – the Serengeti Great Migrationis not just a safari; it’s a breathtaking spectacle and a true natural wonder .In the heart of East Africa lies a natural wonder that has captured the imaginations of adventurers, photographers, and wildlife enthusiasts for generations. The Serengeti Great Migration, and particularly the dramatic wildebeest migration, is a spectacle that defies description. At the heart of the Great Migration is the wildebeest, often described as the ‘clowns of the savannah.’ These ungainly creatures are, in fact, incredibly agile and tough. Each year, around 1.5 million wildebeests, accompanied by hundreds of thousands of zebras and other herbivores, set off on a perilous journey in search of fresh grazing lands and water sources.

The Stages of the Wildebeest Migration

Calving Season (December-March): Witness the birthing of thousands of wildebeest calves, attracting predators in a feeding frenzy.Grasslands Grazing (April-June): The herds move northwest, feasting on the lush grasses.River Crossings (July-October) One of the most exhilarating parts of the Great Migration is the Mara River crossing. Thousands of wildebeests gather at the riverbank, hesitant but driven by the need for greener pastures on the other side. As they plunge into the water, crocodiles lurk beneath, and predators await on the far bank. It’s a heart-pounding, edge-of-your-seat moment that epitomizes the circle of life. The most iconic and dramatic phase, as the herds brave crocodile-infested rivers like the Mara River.Return Journey (November): The herds head south, completing the cycle
